- LinPC.us was formed in an effort to help support PCLinuxOS. They do not plan to offer other operating systems just what they consider the best. Bringing you better quality hardware that has been tested to work well with Linux.
- J & S Computers has been the most dependable source for home and small business computer needs across Nashville Tn, and the surrounding area for the past 10 years! They specialize in hand built D.A.W.s for Home Studios, H.T.P.C.s, Small Business Servers and person.
- 3btech has pc hardware primarily for microsoft machines but there are fairly good prices and hardware descriptions for anyone wanting to put together a decent system.
- Micro Center Online is a good site for hardware, with good prices also.
- CCLComputers is a very good, fair priced online trader who has won awards for customer satisfaction.
- GearXS is a site with some pretty Good deals!
- PriceWatch From Time to time there's some pretty good deals. Pricewatch gets pricing from various sites. However, make sure to calculate the price with the shipping.
- Buy.com you can sometimes find some decent hardware deals from buy.com or compare prices from other sites.
- Frys.com (formerly outpost) Every so often you can find airlink Wireless cards for $10 and some various other goodies cheap. However this site has no place for reviews and does not have indepth detailed infomation for the hardware you have purchased. It's good to do your research before buying.
- NewEgg is a great hardware site where you can read reviews about the hardware. If you're in luck, a Linux user will leave comments about the device and how it works with Linux.
- TigerDirect This site sometimes has some decent deals. For the most part they give pretty detailed info on the their products. However some have reported issues with mail in rebates and not getting them.
Other Databases:
Yes there are other databases out there. This is a list of other databases that include hardware. Hardware listed on these databases may or may not work with PCLinuxOS depending on different distrobutions configurations. Some information on these databases maybe old and outdated and do not reflect a PCLinuxOS user experience, but may offer information that is vital on getting a certian device working with PCLinuxOS.
- TuxMobil is a database that lists mobile devices that run on Linux. This site also has How-Tos and FAQs.
- SANE Supported Devices (scanners)
This is a list by manufacturer of scanners that are supported by the SANE Project. Most likley if your scanner is listed here it should be working with PCLinuxOS.
- Phoronix Linux Compatible hardware is designed to be a community-driven indexing system for computer hardware under GNU/Linux. This databse can help PCLinuxOS users in troubleshooting their hardware
- Linux Compatible Hardware database is database for various major distros, including PCLinuxOS. However, there are few submissions for PCLinuxOS but the database can still be used for information on hardware on may help in getting hardware to function correctly.
- Madriva hardware compatibility list is a Compatibility Hardware Database for Mandriva. Some hardware listed may not work with PCLinuxOS due to different kernel configurations but the information provided could be used to get your device to work.
- SUSE Hardware Compatibility database lists hardware that will work with SUSE Linux. Hardware listed on here may or may not work with PCLinuxOS due to different configurations of distrobutions.
- LinuxPrinting.org offers information on Printers that works on Linux. Most likely if your printer is listed on here it will work with PCLinuxOS. Some information is outdated, however.
