** READ THIS ** Hardware Database Website Rebuild

A few weeks ago the software that the hardware database was using stopped working, as the license expired. It was registered in the former admins name. I checked on purchaseing another license. The cost for this license is just under $200.00. At that point in time I decided that it was not worth re-licenseing. I have assyembled a team to build a backend for the hardware database.

Along the way I had posted a message on pclinuxos.com for ideas on how to improve the hardware database. I have to say that I have received many good ideas. Some are already included, others will be added as time passes. We have had to push back our return date once again. We are sorry for the long delay.

Currently I have disabled the user login and the addition of new hardware. The Contact US does work. We look forward to any comments that you may have.

Also note that the domain name "pclinuxoshwdb.com" belongs to the former admin. Currently it is pointed to my system for the time being. The status of the domain name is set to expire March 2010. After that date the future of the domain name is uncertain. I have registered the domain name "pcloshwdb.com" Please be sure to change your bookmarks to that domain.

I ask you to please bear with us as we continue working hard on building a better hardware database.

Q.   My Hardware doesn't work and is not listed what should I do?

A.   If your hardware is not working and it is also not listed on the hardware database you can try the following. There's a great community at http://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/index.php they will be more then happy to start troublshooting your hardware issues. With the outcome whether the hardware works or not, please let us know so we can let others know your experience and maybe make things easier for others.
